Is there anything more frustrating to a wargamer then losing your preferred miniature range half way (ok, about a quarter of the way) through a project?
I'm a bit torn about what direction to go in now. I picked Venexia because I thought their figures were the best available (Museum Miniatures and QRF are both fine, but don't hold up well next to the Venexia figures.) Hopefully, the model range will be sold to another company sooner or later, but for the immediate future, I'll be putting this project on hold.
Extremely frustrating since I only bought Warlord's Pike & Shotte rules at the weekend! Bummer.
There was talk on TMP about this, hopefully someone buys them, they do make some nice figures.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't spend a lot of time on TMP. This was one of those occasions where I regret that!
DeleteHi Vladd.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you missed out. If it's any consolation I was taken by surprise too.
Since the TMP announcement Ray mentioned I've been really busy and sales have been exceptional. Most of my Italian Wars stock went within 36 hours of the TMP post. The only thing I have left in any depth is the Spanish pike & shot which, for no real reason I can fathom, have not been very popular.
Here's hoping they find a buyer soon.
Thanks for that, you've always given great service so I'm sorry you've lost a range too. I assume it's because the Italian economy is even wobblier than ours. Fingers crossed.
DeleteIt can be a pain in the arse when this happens but hopefully they'll be bought but it will still be a delay!
ReplyDeleteyes, I read that too. It's a real shame, especially if you're interested (like me) in the Italian Wars...
ReplyDeleteVery disappointing. Hopefully someone picks up the line so you can finish your project.
ReplyDeleteLurk, Seb & Adam, yeah I hope they find a buyer, Venexia really filled a niche in 16th cent miniatures. Their Gendarmes are the best available. Hope they appear somewhere else soon!
